I came across this the other day on my table and thought I’d send it along. This design has been coming through a lot for me recently. It was nice to be in doodle mode while I was making this. There’s really something to be said for drawing on a surface that will most likely become garbage in the near future. I met Chuck Close in an art store one day and I asked him what he used when he just wanted to sketch. He told me to throw away my sketchbook. He said that keeping things in a book made it more precious and that it makes you think about what you’re making too much. Instead he told me to get a big pad of news print. I still carry around a sketchbook but I love to use the newsprint when I get the chance. You will be seeing this in some other format in the near future. Here’s to the creation flowing from the living moment.
